Type Locality and Naming
Synonym: Altykol suite, алтыкольская свита
Reference section:
Lithology and Thickness
Composed of dark gray clay-carbonaceous and siliceous slates containing interlayers of feldspar-quartz sandstones and limestones. The incomplete thickness of the Altykol suite is 2000 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The underlying deposits are unknown.
Upper contact
It is overlain transgressively, but without angular discordance, by terrigenous rocks of the Mayan stage Fm of the Middle Cambrian.
Regional extent
They are widespread in the Turkestan region, identified by B.V. Yaskovich (Geol. USSR, vol. 23, 1972).

The Aldansky stage is characterized by a complex of archaeocyaths: Protopharetra aff. polymorpha Born., Archaeocyathus cf. vologdini Bedf., A. (Spirocyathus) latus Vol., Coscinocyathus aff. rojkovi Vol., C. aff. taylori Vol., C. ex. gr. elegans Vol., C. ex gr. dianthus Born.
The upper part of the described rocks contains remains of trilobites characteristic of the Lensky stage, Lermontovia schachristanica Hajr., L. turkestanica Suv., Redlichia uzbekistanica Hajr., Jangudaspis kumbeli Hajr., Alticolia posochovae Hajr., Peronopsis eoscutalis Hajr., Protolensis drevanovskii Tchern., etc. (Geol. USSR, vol. 23, 1972).
