Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

The underlying deposits are unknown.

Upper contact

It is overlain transgressively, but without angular discordance, by terrigenous rocks of the Mayan stage Fm of the Middle Cambrian.

Regional extent

They are widespread in the Turkestan region, identified by B.V. Yaskovich (Geol. USSR, vol. 23, 1972).

Fossils

The Aldansky stage is characterized by a complex of archaeocyaths: Protopharetra aff. polymorpha Born., Archaeocyathus cf. vologdini Bedf., A. (Spirocyathus) latus Vol., Coscinocyathus aff. rojkovi Vol., C. aff. taylori Vol., C. ex. gr. elegans Vol., C. ex gr. dianthus Born.

The upper part of the described rocks contains remains of trilobites characteristic of the Lensky stage, Lermontovia schachristanica Hajr., L. turkestanica Suv., Redlichia uzbekistanica Hajr., Jangudaspis kumbeli Hajr., Alticolia posochovae Hajr., Peronopsis eoscutalis Hajr., Protolensis drevanovskii Tchern., etc. (Geol. USSR, vol. 23, 1972).
